PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICE MINISTRY OF WORKS AND TRANSPORT.

The public Relations Office is a unit attached to the office of the Commissioner Ministry of Works and Transport. The unit of Public Relations in the ministry is primarily responsible for managing reputations, communications risks and opportunities of a business, both internally and externally. The office of PRO is typically accountable for communications to a wide range of stakeholders, including employees, shareholders, media, bloggers, and influential members of the business community, the press, the community and the public.

Vision: To communicate key messages, using third party endorsements (newspapers, Radio or Televisions stations), to defined target audiences in order to establish and maintain goodwill and understanding between the ministry and its public.

Mission: To monitor publicity and conduct research to find out the concerns and expectations of our client organisation’s stakeholders and then report as well as explain the findings to the management.

The Core responsibility of Public Relations office Ministry of Works and Transport.

  • Heads communications, public relations, and public affairs activities.
  • Advises and participates in decisions that may impact the ongoing reputation of the Ministry of Works and Transport.
  • Partners with colleagues and key spokesperson in other organizations to communicate with investors, analysts, customers and company Board members. liaising with, and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations, often via telephone and email
  • Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media, collating and analysing media coverage.
  • Writing and editing in-house magazines, case studies, speeches, articles and annual reports.
  • Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, hand-outs, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programmes
  • Organising events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours as well as devising and coordinating photo opportunities.
  • Maintaining and updating information on the Ministry’s website
  • Managing and updating information and engaging with users on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook
  • Sourcing and managing speaking and sponsorship opportunities in both Radio and TV stations
